privacy
This is a personal site run by one person. Here is everything it keeps about you. Last updated 28 September 2026.
if you just read
Nothing personal is stored by this site itself. Two analytics tools count visits: Vercel Analytics, which works without cookies, and Google Analytics, which sets cookies in your browser to tell returning visitors from new ones. I see aggregate numbers such as page views and countries, not who you are. You can block Google Analytics with any ad blocker or with Google's own opt-out browser add-on, and the site keeps working. The AI chat widget sends your messages to Groq to generate a reply; they are not stored on this site, and a small counter in your own browser limits you to ten messages a day. The site also records how long a blog post stays open in your tab, so I can see which posts hold attention. This is a running total per post, not tied to you individually, nothing identifies who was reading.
if you sign in
Signing in with GitHub or Google is only needed to comment, sign the guestbook, or save bookmarks. When you do, the site stores your username, avatar, and email address as provided by that service. Your email is used only to identify your account and is never shown publicly or sold. No password is stored; the sign-in is handled by Supabase, which hosts the database.
Your comments and guestbook entries are public, along with your username and avatar. You can edit or delete your own comments at any time.
if you subscribe to the newsletter
Your email address and the name you give are stored here and with Resend, which sends the emails. Links in those emails are personalised, so I can see whether you opened a post from one and get a sense of how much it held your attention. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes you off future sends immediately.
who handles the data
Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting and analytics), Google Analytics (visit statistics), Resend (email), and Groq (AI chat). Each only receives what it needs for its job.
removing your data
Send a message through the contact page or email hello@ansonantony.tech and I will delete your account, comments, or subscription. It is one person reading that inbox, so allow a few days.
